Karnataka State Centre Celebrates Foundation Day

The Karnataka State Centre of the Institution celebrated Foundation Day on May 24, 2011 to commemorate laying of foundation for the construction of the building of the Centre by Bharat Ratna Sir M Visvesvaraya in 1960.

Justice Dr M Rama Jois, Hon’ble Member of Parliament (Rajya Sabha) and former Governor of Jharkhand and Bihar, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest and inaugurated the function. Dr K Gopalakrishnan, Chairman of the Centre, welcomed the members and invitees and Dr Wooday P Krishna, Council Member, IEI, introduced the Guests. Justice Jois in his address, paid rich tributes to Sir M Visvesvaraya for his yeoman service to the nation.
 
H e a l s o p r a i s e d S i r Visvesvaraya’s virtuosity in conceiving, designing and planning the Krishnaraja Sagara Dam. On this o c c a s i o n , D r H C Visvesvaraya and Prof (Dr) M P Chowdiah, Past Presidents
of the Institution from the state of Karnataka were felicitated. Past Chairmen of the Centre, namely, Mr P N Hiriyannaiah, Mr D V Nagabhushan, Mr P K Shanbhag, Mr K N Subba Rao, Mr B N Thyagaraja and
Dr L V Muralikrishna Reddy and Past Honorary Secretary, Dr S B Ganjigatti, were also felicitated.
