Important Announcement Regarding IEI Examination

Postgraduate Diploma Examinations Winter 2011

l Winter 2011 Examination of Postgraduate Diploma will be conducted during October 13-16, 2011 at six

Centres, viz., Delhi (110), Kolkata (700), Chennai (600), Hyderabad (500), Nagpur (440) and Ahmedabad

(380).

l The last date of receipt of Examination Application Forms, along with the requisite fee (Rs.2200/-), by

demand draft, is August 31, 2011.

l Candidates, unable to pass Part I examination within the stipulated period, are required to register afresh to

appear in Postgraduate Diploma examination on submission of prescribed registration form with requisite

fee (Rs.2500/-) by demand draft.

l Postgraduate Diploma Examination is also being conducted at Ahmedabad (Centre Code 380) with effect

from Summer 2011 Examination.

l Birla Institute of Technology, Mesra (Ranchi), the Host Institute, revised the fee structure for Part III

Examination as follows:

1. Application Fee : Rs. 6,000/- Rs. 8,000/-

2. Registration Fee (III Semester) : Rs. 20,000/- Rs. 25,000/-

3. Registration Fee (IV Semester) : Rs.20,000/- Rs. 25,000/-

4. Thesis Submission Fee : Rs. 5,000/- Rs. 8,000/-

Sections A & B Examinations - Winter 2011

l Section A (Non-diploma), Section A (Diploma), and Section B Examinations of Winter 2011 will beconducted during 3-9 Dec 2011.

l Last Dates for Submission of Examination Application Forms

Last dates for receiving the examination application forms with revised fee (Rs.2000/- for candidates ofIndia/Nepal and US $ 150 for overseas candidates (effective from Winter 2011 Examination) by demanddraft in favour of 'The Institution of Engineers (India)', 

payable at Kolkata are as follows:

Summer 2011 Examination

l There is no provision for further extension beyond six years stipulated period in revised scheme effective from Summer 2005 examination. Candidates, whose six years period is either already expired with Winter

2010 Examination or will expire thereafter, are expected to apply for re-registration of Section A/Section (as applicable) and for registration of Section (only for Section B candidates) (proforma available on

website www.ieindia.org) with requisite fee by demand draft to appear afresh, forfeiting their previous subject exemptions, as per rules.
