The Institution of Engineering and Technology ( IET) is a world leading profession organisation with over 150, 00 members in 127 countries promoting the exchange of information and idea for the advancement of engineering and technology worldwide recently  The Institution of Engineers India (IEI) and The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), Bangalore have signed a memorandum of understanding to further ties between the two organizations in terms of sharing modern engineering and technological knowledge.The Institution of Engineers (India) has just renewed its bilateral relations with The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), United Kingdom. An Agreement of Cooperation was signed to this effect on 06 May 2010 at Bangalore.

The IEEE does not have the authority to replicate the registration process in its complementary environment.The IET is registered as a charity in England & Wales and in Scotland.
