Mr G Prabhakar inaugurated Twenty-fifth National Convention of Marine Engineers, Tamilnadu ProtoLab Centre at NDRF

The National Design and Research Forum - an autonomous Forum of the Institution, has commissioned a state-of-the-art Rapid Prototyping facility at ‘ProtoLab Centre’ which was

inaugurated by Mr G Prabhakar, President, IEI, on September 16, 2011 at Bangalore. 

Prof R M Vasagam, Chairman, NDRF; Mr Madan Lal, Past President, IEI; Dr H C Visvesvaraya, Past President, IEI and Past Chairman, NDRF; Mr P K Maity, Vice President, IEI; Prof (Dr) N R Bandyopadhyay, Chairman, CATE; Dr U Chandrasekhar, Chairman, RDC; Maj Gen R K Sanan, VSM (Retd), Secretary & Director General; Dr K Gopalakrishnan, Chairman, Karnataka State Centre of the Institution along with Brig Chandrasekhar (Retd), Director, Flags of Honour Foundation and Prof S Parthan, former Professor, IIT, Kharagpur, participated in the inaugural function. ProtoLab Centre caters to the needs of CAD/CAE and rapid prototyping activities. The facility would be used to realise innovative designs

of engineering products / ceramics / artifacts / visual communication / packaging, etc. Facility would also be extended to AMIE / Engineering student projects.
