Info About AMIE Examination Structure


The Section A should be undertaken and examination should be faced by all students registering under both diploma and non diploma. An examination paper will take duration of three hours unless specifically stated in the course contents. The number of papers a student can face at any one given sitting is a maximum of four papers in either section. As a result of this regulation Section B cannot be completed before the completion of one and half years. It will take a minimum duration of one and half years for the Diploma stream students to complete the Section A due to their exemption status on certain examination papers while it will take a minimum of two years for completion of Section A by the non diploma students. A period of a minimum of six years will be allocated for the project work or practical and laboratory work. During the course of the program students will be deployed in engineering related activities and practical undertaking as and when decreed by the Institution.
Section A contemns and subjects are not for selection and all students should cover the entire syllabus while during the Section B, the student should select the desired field of engineering or related subjects from the offered curriculum.

On Successful completion of the AMIE Program
At the end of the successful completion of both Section A and Section B, the candidates will be recognized as a Graduate of Institution of the Engineers India (GradIE) and will be held on the equivalent level of a qualified Bachelor’s Degree of Engineering.


Next date of Examination
The next examination will be the winter 2010 examination which is scheduled to be held during the month of December 2010 from the 4th to the 10th.

Application dates for the next examination
The following applicants will be considered eligible to sit the winter 2010 examinations.
Students who did not face the summer 2010 Examination will be required to send their application during the period of 16th August to 20th September 2010. Candidates who have already taken the summer 2010 examination and wish to re sit the Winter Examination should send their applications during the period of 20th September to 20th October 2010.

AMIE Examination charges
Students who are expecting to sit for the next examination will have to make a contribution of Rs. 2,000.00 with demand drafts written in favor of the “The Institution of Engineers (India) and should be paid to the office address in Kokatta. The students who are applying from overseas are expected to make an exam fee of $120.
