The 663rd Meeting of the IEI Council hosted by the Andhra Pradesh State Centre of the Institution was held at the premises of the Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI) – an autonomous organ of the Institution at Hyderabad during March 25-27, 2011. Mr G Prabhakar, President, IEI, presided over the meeting which was attended by Immediate Past President, Mr Madan Lal; Past Presidents RAdm K O Thakare, Mr R P Gupta, Mr G L Rao, Mr B J Vasoya; Vice Presidents, Mr P K Maity and Mr V L Malhotra along with distinguished Council Members. The Meeting was A view of the dais coordinated by Maj Gen R K Sanan, VSM (Retd), Secretary and Director General of the Institution. Besides considering recommendations from CATE, Finance Committee and other Committees, the Council deliberated on various important issues related to Engineers' Bill, Washington Accord, Education and Examinations, Accreditation and issues related to quality improvement of Indian Engineering Congress, etc. The Budget of the Institution for the FY 2011-12 was presented by Mr Ashok Basa, Council Member and Member, Finance Committee and was passed after detailed discussion. Earlier, Prof T Narayana, Chairman, Andhra Pradesh State Centre, welcomed the august gathering. Mr G Sudhakar, Honorary Secretary of the Centre, proposed the vote of thanks. The Meeting concluded with National Anthem on March 27, 2011.
