Info About The 27th National Convention of Electrical Engineers

The 27th National Convention of Electrical Engineers is being organised by the West Bengal State Centre of The Institution of Engineers(India) during November 25-27, 2011, under the aegis of Electrical Engineering Division Board, at Kolkata in association with CPRI, Bangalore. The Convention was inaugurated on November 25, 2011 by shri T N Thakur,CMD-PTC India Ltd at Hotel Taj Bengal, Kolkata. 

About 250 guests and delegates participated during the function. The Welcome Address was delivered by Shri Archan Kusum Majumdar, Chairman-IEI, WBSC and Shri Vimal Prakash, Chairman- Electrical Engineering Division Board enlightened the gathering about the Convention. On the occasion Shri Adinath Chatterjee,Former Directror-CESC Limited, Shri Santiram Sikdar, Former Chairman West Bengal State Electricity Board, Prof. D Thukaram , Professor IISC, Bangalore, Prof. Dilip K Basu, Former Vice-Chancellor, Burdwan University and Shri V K Kanjlia, Secretary-Central Board of Irrigation & Power were felicitated as Eminent Engineers on the occasion. Dr Rajesh Abraham, Asst.Professor, Department of Avionics, Indian Institute of Space Science & Technology, Thiruvanathapuram, Dr L Ashok Kumar, Asst.Professor, Department of Electrical & Electronics Engineering,PSG College of Technology, Coimbatore, and Dr Anshuman Shukla, Asst. Professor, Department of Electrical Engineering, IIT Bombay was awarded the Young Engineers Award. Vote of thanks was delivered by Shri Manik Ch Ghosh, organising Secretary. The inaugural session was followed by the M S Thacker memorial lecture which was delivered by Shri N Murugesan, Director General, Central Power Research Institute, Bangalore. Two technical sessions were also held during the day.
