The program covers two sections which the applicant has to pass in order to earn the qualified credentials of AMIE. The two sections are Section A, which consists of project work and the second part is Section B, which will be the examination conducted by the Institution of Engineers India (IEI). Successful candidates who pass both sections of the program will be entitled to be recognized as an Associate of the Institution of Engineers (AIE). According to the Indian Ministry of Human Resource Development the qualification will be on par with a national degree of engineering. In a recent development the Government of India has taken steps to upgrade the qualification further by recognizing it on par with a Bachelors Degree in relation to the field of engineering programs conducted by all national recognized universities of India and the announcement has been notified through gazette announcement on 2006 February 11, part 1, section1.
On the international education scenario the AMIE is professionally recognized to be the equalant qualification to a British Bachelor degree in engineering and also considered to on par with the Foreign Credential Service of America (FCSA), bachelor’s degree in engineering.
In addition , following organization in Abroad consider passing section A & B examinations equivalent to bachelors degree in appropriate branch of engineering for higher studies /employment pursuer.
