For AMIE there is no any limit of time duration . The Institution of Engineers India gives seperate time duration for Section A and section B , after expiry of time time duration of either section a or section B a student can apply for teo year extension either for section A or section B depend upon expiry of section.
A student will undertake this program for a minimum period of four years enclosing section A and Section B of the total program. However, for students registering as senior technician members with the required 3 year Diploma obtained through the polytechnic engineering institute may complete the program within a period of three years as they will not be required to undertake certain examinations under Section A. However, a student may not be eligible to sit for the Section B examinations on completion of the Section A examinations if any student has not fulfilled the prerequisite criteria of project work that is in par to the syllabus in section A.
