International Network of Professional Engineers Development Institutes (INPEDI) launched at ESCI

INPEDI was formed in June 2010 and formally launched at Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI) - an Autonomous Organ of the Institution at Hyderabad, on October 11, 2011 with the following founding members to raise competence level of professional engineers and capacity building of global engineering community through Continuous Professional Development. 
The International Science, Technology and Innovation Centre for South - South Cooperation under aegis of UNESCO (ISTIC)
 Engineering Staff College of India (ESCI)
 The Institution of Engineers Malaysia Training Centre (IEMTC)
 The Engineers Regulation Board, Kenya (ERB, Kenya)
 Council for Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN)
 The Engineering Regulation Board, Tanzania (ERB, Tanzania)
INPEDI will help in transfer of knowledge and exchange of expertise in order to raise the level of engineering for development in the world, especially, the developing world. The global secretariat of INPEDI is at ESCI and the Chief Executive of INPEDI is the Director General of ESCI. The objectives of INPEDI are :

1. Exchange of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Programmes amongst members
2. Participation of engineers/executives in training programmes of members
3. Participation of faculty in training programmes of members
4. Organising regional CPD programmes
5. Accreditation of CPD programmes of members for Professional Engineer Certificate / 
6. Mutual cooperation amongst members in engineering and technological human capital development in member countries.

Four international training programmes : two at ESCI and one each in Malaysia and Kenya with association of ESCI have been held. Another programme is due in Abuja, Nigeria.
The INPEDI is being led by ESCI in promotion of professional development of engineers in different countries.
