IEI And IETE Joins Hand Together


Like Institution of Engineers( India ) The Institution of Electronic and Telecommunication is also a Engineering professional body.The Institution of Electronics and Telecommunication Engineers (IETE) is India's leading recognised professional society
devoted to the advancement of Science and Technology  of Electronics, Telecommunication & IT. Founded in 1953, it seves more than 69,000 members through various centres, whose number is 57, spread all over India and abroad. The Institution provides leadership in Scientific an Technical areas of direct importance to the national development and economy. Government of India has recognised IETE as a Scientific and Industrial Research Organization (SIRO) and also notified as an educational Institution of national eminence. The objectives of IETE focus on advancing electro-technology. The IETE conducts and sponsors technical meetings, conferences, symposia, and exhibitions all over India, publishes technical journals and provides continuing education as well as career advancement opportunities to its members.


In Order to develop closer working relationship for multibenifits of their members in the interest of engineering , the Institution of Engineers(India ) and The Institution of Electronic and Telecommunication  ( IETE) signed a Memorendum of Understanding ( MoU) earlier on 10 th the december  2006 at New Delhi, as per agreement , this a view of MoU signing ceremony Memorandum of Understanding  (Mou) was renewed on 25th feburary 2010 at New Delhi. the MoU was signed by
MrMadan Lal, President and Maj Gen (Retd) R K Sanan, VSM,Secretary & Director General on behalf of IEI. Lt Gen AshokAgarwal, PVSM (Retd), President and Brig V K Pandey (Retd),Secretary General of IETE, signed the MoU on behalf of the IETE. This MoU will continue for further three years and thereafter it will be renewed automatically for a further period ofthree years. In his welcome address, Lt Gen Ashok Agarwal, PVSM (Retd), President,IETE, mentioned that IETE would extend its wholehearted co-operation in the areas of membership development,exchange of publications on complimentary basis, joint sponsoring, organizing of Seminars, Conferences and meetings of mutual interests. He further desired that at least one joint technical activity should be organized by both the organizations in every year. In response, Mr Madan Lal, President, IEI,expressed his sincere thanks to the President, IETE, for his support and cooperation to the activities of IEI.

He further stated that IEI had been getting continuous support form  IETE in drafting the consensus Draft Engineers’ Bill, membership development, recognition of courses etc. He appreciated the efforts of IETE in facilitating working of National Committee in the Electronics andTelecommunication Engineering Division for certification of Professional Engineers as per the norms of EMF. He further informed that IEI’s infrastructure facilities through its 97 Centres spread across the country would be available
to undertake professional activities on mutually acceptable terms. As per the agreement, IEI and IETE have agreed to develop a Technical Cooperation Programme (TCP) related to technical education and certification of competence of engineers of relevant discipline.Mr Madan Lal and Lt Gen Ashok Agarwal, agreed that the combined effort of IEI and IETE would serve the engineering profession in an effective manner. On this occasion, Mr R PGupta, Past President, IEI; Brig. S V S Chowdhry, Council Member, IEI and Chairman, BOG-SQF; Lt Gen A K SChandele, PVSM, AVSM, Director General, EME and Council Member, IEI;
Mr Pradeep Chaturvedi, Former CouncilMember, IEI; Cdr. R Kaushik (Retd), Deputy Director General (Designate) , IEI, and Mr H R P Yadav, Director (Coordination),IEI HQ Cell, New Delhi, represented IEI. Wg Cdr (Retd) Dr. M L Bala, Mr H O Agrawal, Mr M L Gupta,
Mr S K Arora were present from IETE side.
